Happy Holidays! Last year my good intentions to send out holiday cards with personal notes got completely derailed. That is why this year I have set my sites a bit lower—or higher, if you happen to be a technology buff—and put my season's greetings online.

Life is good, and I'm the richest I've ever been. Well, perhaps not by everyone's standards, but.... Well, yes, I still drive my 1990 Toyota Tercel with 155,000 miles on it. And I still shop the sales, and I have to budget. My wealth is in the currency of friends and family that I adore, health so good it's almost off the chart, work that I love, enough income to be comfortable and give a little back. It's like being a lottery winner every day. Thank you for being my friend or family member—which makes you part of my life and my "winnings"!

In June I bought a house and moved in July 1! The new address is: 1671 Pebblewood Drive, Sacramento, CA 95833-2632. The phone number is the same: 916.925.7069. We're in the same neighborhood—just six blocks from our old Mill Oak address—but in a house much brighter and airier, with two patios, and lots of fruit trees. I'm so excited to share my new place with you, I have a special page where you can see more pictures. These were taken during the move-in, so it's not ONLY my housekeeping that makes everything look so cluttered. ;-D I have also removed the hedges & painted the trim since since this picture was taken.

Although Carrie at 19 is still a teen-ager, she has finally transcended that teen-aged phase that strikes dread into the heart of even the bravest parent. She has always been the light of my life, but it now seems just a little easier to see it shining more brightly every day. I'm so excited to share more about Carrie, I made a page just for her, too (even more charming than the house photos). More about Carrie...

Amazing, but I actually have some social life—I've been dating Mike Rudd for seven years now. He is indeed a sweet and patient man—certainly a must to put up with me for this long.

I am still on contract to IBM. I had to travel a great deal in 1997, so have been very happy to be back to a desk job and doing documentation for the past year. In conjunction with that, I'm also going to American River College, studying desktop publishing and web design (big surprise, huh?).

I'll be spending Christmas with my parents and sister in Oklahoma this year—it should be a fabulous time. I love not only seeing my family, but getting to shed responsibilities and be a daughter. Have a wonderful holiday yourself! Love, Liz
